Puppy Nursery
Puppies are raised in our home and are a part of our family. They get accustomed to the sights, sounds, and smells of living in a busy household with five children. They are introduced to people of all ages and types (mustaches, masks, etc.). They are also introduced to several other big and small animals. We regularly take them on car rides and have special play areas inside and outside our home that allows them to explore and develop their active minds and bodies.
- Puppies are given groomings each week such as baths and blow dries to help them get used to this experience
- Potty training begins at 3 weeks of age.
- Crate training is started
Puppy culture method and Rule of 7s are implemented and are extremely successful!
Early neurological stimulation (ENS), behavioral training, introducing new experiences, and socialization are achieved using these methods.
Implementing this program is a lot of work, but it so worth it! Owners report our puppies are easy to train, adjust to new circumstances well, and are good with other dogs and people. With this program we are confident that our puppies will be excellent family dogs!
Research has shown that young puppies brains are like sponges. They can absorb and process information much faster than older dogs. Information learned now will stay with them for a lifetime! If they learn that new experiences are something to be happy about and look forward to early on, they will be able to continue that throughout their lifetime. They will approach new experiences with calm confidence.
A new object or experience is introduced to the puppie’s world every day from the time they can see (about 10 days old) until they go home with you. The new objects can be different surfaces to walk on, textures to chew on, toys, household items, etc. Examples of experiences include exploring a new room in the house, hearing different sounds, or feeling water for the first time.
